Curriculum-Aligned STEM Workshops for Schools
Each session is tailored to your pupils’ age and ability, with options for individual classes, year groups, or mixed-age cohorts. We offer flexible formats to suit your school’s needs:
90-minute workshops – Ideal for taster sessions or themed enrichment
Full-day enrichment events – Perfect for STEM Week, British Science Week, or end-of-term activities
Whether it’s a short workshop or a full-day event, our goal is to inspire innovation, curiosity, and confidence in every child, while fully supporting your school’s curriculum and enrichment goals.
At Young Innovators Club, we offer flexible and engaging STEM experiences for schools across Rutland, Leicestershire, and Lincolnshire, with options for 90 minute workshops or full day curriculum enrichment days.
Our sessions are designed for individual year groups, multiple classes, or mixed-age groups, providing a hands on, age appropriate introduction to coding, electronics, problem solving, and engineering.
In our 90 minute workshops, students follow a structured design thinking process: they identify a real-world problem, explore possible solutions, design and develop their ideas, test their prototypes, and present their projects to the group. Depending on age and ability, children might build models, write code, or program sensors sensors.
Younger learners focus on experimenting with simple circuits and hands on exploration, while older students tackle more complex systems involving coding, electronics, and iterative design.
Each project is unique, students aren’t guided to identical outcomes. Some prototypes may not work as expected, but the emphasis is on learning through experimentation and creative thinking.
In our full day enrichment sessions, students work in teams, giving them more time to explore, test, and improve their designs using an iterative development process. These longer sessions allow for deeper engagement with the topic and more opportunities to refine their ideas through collaboration and feedback.

Our Workshops and Enrichment Days

KS1 STEM Workshops – Storybook-Inspired Coding, Circuits & Creativity
Our KS1 workshops use storybook themes and play-based learning to introduce coding, electronics, and design. Pupils might guide robots through story challenges, create paper circuits with LEDs, or build animations in ScratchJr. In 90-minute sessions, they complete one activity; full-day sessions explore all three. Every workshop is curriculum-linked and tailored to your school’s topics — perfect for sparking early STEM skills.

KS2 STEM Workshops – Design & Code Your Own Smart Home
Pupils explore architecture and sustainability by designing smart homes with automated features. They code devices like doors, alarms, or watering systems using sensors and Micro:bits. In short sessions, they build and present one system; in full-day events, they collaborate to create a smart city. These workshops build coding, design thinking, and problem-solving skills in a fun, hands-on way.

KS3 STEM Workshops – Engineering for Extreme Environments
Students explore how engineering and architecture respond to natural disasters like floods and earthquakes. They design flood-proof buildings and code working alarm systems using sensors and Micro:bits. In 90-minute sessions, they tackle one challenge; in full-day events, they work in teams to build and test resilient structures. These workshops link directly to sustainability, climate resilience, and real-world problem-solving, while developing skills in coding, engineering, and critical thinking.
